I’ve been with Healthy Regards for about 2+ years now and I can say I’ve had no issues with them! My psychiatrist Dr. Olumayowa Omoyeni is the best and checks in on me and just genuinely cares (: 10/10!!Posted on DONNIE LENARDTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Easily one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences with any kind of medical office that I have ever experienced. After providing them with every document, medical records, and releases that was requested (which took days) they contacted me 15 mins before my scheduled appointment to notify me that there had been a “scheduling error” and that they could not see me. Shorty after that I received an email stating they don’t think they are the right provider for me. I actually agree with them on that. I’ve been treated for adhd for over 25 yrs. and I have never seen more of a disorganized mess than this practice. It’s like the left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing.Posted on Brashearica DTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you are a black American do not go to any African providers. They will not take you serious, & will not classify your diagnoses as a serious clinical concern until you check yourself into an inpatient behavioral health center. You are better off going to a Caucasian/White provider because they will actually listen lol. I asked Olumayowa Omoyeni if she would assist with FMLA in our very 1st session to avoid wasting my HCA spending on a provider who can’t help/scared to help/not interested in helping. Which she acted like she did and stated she would need at least 3 visits prior to assisting. At this point my health insurance is paying appx $450/session. Every time I asked what do I need to do regarding FMLA, it’s: “get with your employer, because they’re starting to get real strict and tight”. I finally decided to just file a claim because she was clearly no help with direction or a plan moving forward to assist with my problems. Again, most African providers think there is nothing wrong with people and don’t take their problems seriously until it’s too late. Before she could put me on different meds she wanted a EKG/ECG, ok cool I just did that a few weeks ago and sent the copy to her, no response, no follow up for next appointment, radio silence. After filing for FMLA I requested for 4 weeks. Not even the whole 3 months(12weeks)!! To my surprise I was approved for 2 weeks instead😂 with no call from my provider so that we are on the same page or to understand why. It’s very cowardice of the provider to not want to follow up with their client so that they are not left in the dark. But it’s a money hungry industry with little regard or care to their clients. Again, if you are black and want legitimate help go to a white person, Africans never believe anything is wrong with you 😂.
Finding effective OCD treatment in McKinney TX is an important step toward reclaiming your life from obsessive-compulsive disorder. We understand that living with intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors can feel isolating and exhausting, which is why we’re committed to delivering evidence-based care in a confidential, professional setting
What Is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a psychiatric condition marked by two core features: intrusive, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) performed to relieve the anxiety from those thoughts. Unlike the common misconception that OCD is simply being organized or neat, it’s a serious mental health condition that significantly interferes with work, relationships, and daily functioning.
According to the DSM-5, OCD is a recognized condition affecting adults across all demographics. The key distinction is that people with OCD recognize their obsessions and compulsions are excessive or irrational, yet feel unable to control them. This creates significant distress and impairment that professional psychiatric care can help address.
Common OCD Symptoms in Adults
Adult OCD manifests in many different ways. Our psychiatry practitioners in McKinney TX regularly evaluate and treat adults experiencing:
- Contamination fears leading to excessive cleaning or avoidance
- Intrusive thoughts about causing harm to yourself or others
- Unwanted, distressing mental images that feel uncontrollable
- Need for things to be “just right,” symmetrical, or perfectly ordered
- Repetitive checking of doors, locks, appliances, or other items
- Ritualistic counting, arranging, or organizing behaviors
- Excessive moral or religious preoccupations (scrupulosity)
- Avoidance of situations, people, or places that trigger anxiety
If these patterns resonate with your experience, scheduling a psychiatric evaluation is the first step toward understanding your condition and exploring treatment.
How Our Psychiatry Practitioners Treat OCD
Treatment for adult OCD begins with a thorough psychiatric evaluation. Our licensed practitioners conduct a comprehensive assessment of your symptoms, medical history, current medications, and how OCD impacts your daily life. This evaluation forms the foundation for a personalized treatment plan based on evidence-based psychiatric practice.
Our approach focuses on psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Many adults experience significant symptom reduction through properly selected medications monitored by our practitioners. We stay current with guidelines from the American Psychiatric Association and clinical research to ensure you receive the most effective care available.
Ongoing treatment involves regular monitoring of your response to medication, assessment of symptom changes, and adjustments to your treatment plan as needed. We also provide education to help you better understand OCD and your individual symptom patterns.
Medication Management for OCD
Certain medications—particularly selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs)—have demonstrated effectiveness in reducing obsessions and compulsions in many adults. The FDA recognizes specific medications for OCD treatment, and our practitioners are experienced in selecting appropriate options based on your individual symptoms and health profile.
Medication management is a collaborative process where we discuss potential benefits and side effects, answer your questions, and ensure you understand how to take your medication as prescribed. Regular follow-up appointments allow us to monitor your progress and make adjustments to optimize your treatment. While medication is not a guarantee of complete symptom elimination, it significantly reduces OCD severity for many adults.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect during my first psychiatric evaluation for OCD?
During your initial evaluation, our licensed practitioner will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your symptoms, including the types of obsessions and compulsions you experience. We’ll also review your medical history, current medications, family history of mental health conditions, and how OCD impacts your work, relationships, and daily functioning. This thorough evaluation helps us understand your specific presentation and develop an effective treatment plan tailored to your needs.
How long does it take to see improvement with OCD treatment?
Individual responses to treatment vary. Some adults notice symptom improvement within 4 to 6 weeks of starting medication, while others may take longer. It’s important to maintain realistic expectations and stay committed to your treatment plan. Our practitioners monitor your progress closely during follow-up appointments and may adjust your medication or approach based on your response. Consistent treatment typically leads to meaningful symptom reduction over time.
How often will I need to see a psychiatry practitioner?
The frequency of visits depends on your individual needs and treatment stage. During initial treatment, you may be seen every 2 to 4 weeks to monitor your response to medication and make adjustments as needed. Once your symptoms are well-managed, visits may be scheduled less frequently, such as monthly or quarterly. Our practitioners will work with you to establish a schedule that supports your recovery and maintains your stability.
What if my OCD occurs with other conditions like anxiety or depression?
OCD often occurs alongside other mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, or related disorders. Our practitioners are experienced in evaluating and treating adults with OCD and comorbid conditions. We develop comprehensive treatment plans that address all of your symptoms and concerns. During your psychiatric evaluation, we’ll assess for these conditions to ensure your treatment plan is complete and effective.
