I’ve been with Healthy Regards for about 2+ years now and I can say I’ve had no issues with them! My psychiatrist Dr. Olumayowa Omoyeni is the best and checks in on me and just genuinely cares (: 10/10!!Posted on DONNIE LENARDTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Easily one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences with any kind of medical office that I have ever experienced. After providing them with every document, medical records, and releases that was requested (which took days) they contacted me 15 mins before my scheduled appointment to notify me that there had been a “scheduling error” and that they could not see me. Shorty after that I received an email stating they don’t think they are the right provider for me. I actually agree with them on that. I’ve been treated for adhd for over 25 yrs. and I have never seen more of a disorganized mess than this practice. It’s like the left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing.Posted on Brashearica DTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you are a black American do not go to any African providers. They will not take you serious, & will not classify your diagnoses as a serious clinical concern until you check yourself into an inpatient behavioral health center. You are better off going to a Caucasian/White provider because they will actually listen lol. I asked Olumayowa Omoyeni if she would assist with FMLA in our very 1st session to avoid wasting my HCA spending on a provider who can’t help/scared to help/not interested in helping. Which she acted like she did and stated she would need at least 3 visits prior to assisting. At this point my health insurance is paying appx $450/session. Every time I asked what do I need to do regarding FMLA, it’s: “get with your employer, because they’re starting to get real strict and tight”. I finally decided to just file a claim because she was clearly no help with direction or a plan moving forward to assist with my problems. Again, most African providers think there is nothing wrong with people and don’t take their problems seriously until it’s too late. Before she could put me on different meds she wanted a EKG/ECG, ok cool I just did that a few weeks ago and sent the copy to her, no response, no follow up for next appointment, radio silence. After filing for FMLA I requested for 4 weeks. Not even the whole 3 months(12weeks)!! To my surprise I was approved for 2 weeks instead😂 with no call from my provider so that we are on the same page or to understand why. It’s very cowardice of the provider to not want to follow up with their client so that they are not left in the dark. But it’s a money hungry industry with little regard or care to their clients. Again, if you are black and want legitimate help go to a white person, Africans never believe anything is wrong with you 😂.

What Is Depression
Depression is more than feeling sad or going through a difficult period. It’s a medical condition that affects how you think, feel, and handle daily activities. Clinical depression involves persistent symptoms that interfere with your ability to function normally.
Many people describe depression as a heavy weight that makes everything harder. You might feel exhausted even after sleeping, lose interest in things that used to bring joy, or struggle to concentrate on basic tasks. These symptoms aren’t a sign of weakness they are indicators of a treatable mental health condition
Signs and Symptoms of Depression
Symptoms vary from person to person, but common experiences include:
- Persistent sadness or emptiness
- Fatigue or low energy
- Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
- Changes in sleep patterns (too much or too little)
- Changes in appetite or weight
- Feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt
- Loss of interest in activities
- Physical symptoms like headaches or digestive issues with no clear medical cause
In severe cases, people may have thoughts of death or suicide. If you’re experiencing suicidal thoughts, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.
Causes of Depression
Depression usually results from a combination of factors:
- Genetic: Family history of depression or mood disorders
- Biological: Imbalances in neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine
- Environmental: Trauma, loss of a loved one, difficult relationships, job stress, or financial problems
- Medical & Psychological: Certain illnesses, medications, or prolonged stress and anxiety
Understanding these factors helps us develop the most effective treatment plan for your situation.
Depression and Major Depressive Disorder
Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a clinical diagnosis that requires symptoms to persist for at least two weeks and significantly impact daily functioning. It’s one of the most common mental health conditions in the United States.
A proper psychiatric evaluation helps determine whether you’re experiencing MDD or another form of depression. This diagnosis is crucial because it guides treatment decisions and helps you understand your condition. Treatment for major depressive disorder in McKinney TX, focuses on reducing symptoms and improving quality of life through various therapeutic approaches.
Depression Treatment Options in McKinney
Effective depression care often involves a combination of approaches tailored to your needs:
Medication Management
Antidepressant medications work by balancing brain chemistry and can significantly reduce symptoms. Our board-certified providers carefully evaluate which medication might work best based on your symptoms, medical history, and any previous treatments. We start with appropriate doses and monitor your response, adjusting as needed.
Psychotherapy and Counseling
Therapy provides tools to manage depressive thoughts and behaviors. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps identify and change negative thought patterns. Many patients benefit from combining medication with therapy for comprehensive outcomes.
Lifestyle and Self-Care Support
Sleep, exercise, nutrition, and stress management complement professional treatment and support recovery.
Treatment Resistant Depression Care
Some people don’t respond adequately to standard antidepressants or therapy. This is called treatment resistant depression, affecting about one-third of people with MDD. Healthy Regards Psychiatry evaluates why previous treatments haven’t worked and explores alternative medications, combination therapies, or newer treatment modalities.
Advanced Treatments Like TMS and Spravato
For patients who haven’t responded to traditional treatments, we provide advanced options:
- Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS): Non-invasive magnetic pulses stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation.
- Spravato® Treatment: Esketamine nasal spray administered under supervision for treatment-resistant depression.
These treatments are carefully evaluated to ensure they are appropriate for each patient. Learn more on our pages about [TMS therapy] and [Spravato treatment].
Depression and Anxiety Treatment
Depression and anxiety often occur together. We develop comprehensive treatment plans addressing both conditions simultaneously. Some adults may also have ADHD, and our ADHD treatment in McKinney helps manage symptoms alongside depression and anxiety.
